The importance of grids

Some Designers (me included) have a tendency to face certain issues when structuring their design. Often an easy and underlooked remedy would be to use a grid system.

Why would you use such a system you ask? Consistency. Using a procedural approach will make one's designs easier to revisit later if the user’s wants and needs have changed.

In layman’s terms, a grid separates spaces on a page with lines to form rows and columns. In doing so, we can have an additional visual aid when placing elements throughout an artboard. This often speeds up a designers workflow as one can see how other elements are aligned visually, if the end result isn’t cluttered and is aesthetically pleasing.
